Not sure what to pack on your next family cruise? Have no fear, we’re here to help. Check out five things that you should pack for next family cruise!
Are you planning a cruise with your family? Are kids included? If so, you’ll quickly discover that vacations on the sea are much different than those on land.
With that in mind, now is the time to learn how to pack for your upcoming family cruise. After all, you don’t want to forget or leave behind any essentials.
Now, let’s dive in and learn about some of the must-have items to take along on your family cruise.
Regardless of how old your children are, having a pack (or two) of alcohol-free hand sanitizing wipes in your bag – at all times – is a must. It’s easy to pick up all types of bugs, and bacteria, such as norovirus and gastrointestinal ailments, can be caught from dirty surfaces and contaminated food.
Most cruise lines have alcohol wipes or antibacterial dispensers to help keep the ships clean. However, you should not rely just on what’s on the ship. If you get sick, it can ruin the trip for everyone, so don’t take chances – take along your own wipes.
While this is true, it doesn’t mean you won’t be stuck with a stubborn headache or a child with a scraped knee at some point. While you can buy medicine on the ship, you will have to pay a premium for it.
Just make sure you are prepared for this by taking along all the typical medicine that you may need.
Usually, the bathroom in a cruise ship won’t have much counter space or storage area for toiletries. Taking along a multi-pocket bathroom door organizer is the best way to keep your small travel essentials organized and easy to find.
Do you plan to get into the pool? Or have various water excursions when you visit the various islands where your ship will stop? If so, having swimming or water shoes will be beneficial.
Not only will these shoes provide traction when it’s slippery, but they also protect your feet and toes from shells or sharp rocks.
Many cruise cabins are outfitted with blackout curtains. When the lights go out, seeing anything is challenging.
Before departing, make sure you have an affordable night light for your room. Try to put it close to the bathroom, so you and your kids can find your way easily during the night.
